Collection Policy for PLANT PATHOLOGY & MICROBIOLOGY

General Purpose

Resources are selected to support the instructional and research needs of faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology. The department offers the M.S. and Ph.D degrees in plant pathology and microbiology and also participates in several interdepartmental graduate programs. The department does not offer a B.S. degree in plant pathology, but faculty are involved in teaching undergraduate courses. The department also coadministers the Interdepartmental Undergraduate Program in Microbiology. The department also participates in a number of extension/outreach programs including: Plant Disease Clinic, Hortline, and the Master Gardener Program.

Departmental research, teaching, and extension programs focus on the biology and management of plant pathogenic microorganisms and the interactions of pathogens with their host plants.
