Nuclear waste refers to radioactive waste products of nuclear materials/processes. Toxic waste is a general term for industry produced chemical waste that is harmful to human health. In comparison to affluent communities, communities of color and lower income are more likely to live in close proximity to factories, plants, and waste sites.
