ISU Veterinary Medicine Student Pioneers

This guide will highlight some of the early students of color who graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and provide resources for further research into these individuals.

Nam Young Chung (DVM 1953)

N. Y. Chung and his wife had a daughter, Catherine Wha Soon, on December 16, 1951 (reported in Iowa State Veterinarian, Vol. 14, Is. 2)

Following graduation, Dr. Chung had a mixed animal practice in Honolulu, Hawai'i. It was reported in 1954 that he and his wife had thee children: Gordon, Catherine, and Edwin. (Iowa State Veterinarian, v. 17, no. 2, 1954)
