Iowa State University’s DataShare is an open access repository for sharing, publishing, and archiving research data created by Iowa State University scholars and researchers.
DataShare shares records describing published datasets to the open web so that search engines, researchers, libraries, and more can find them. Each data set is also assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) which makes your data easy to cite, trace, and locate.
The University Library manages DataShare and has a track record of good stewardship. Library staff will work with you to ensure that your data is ready to share. Additionally, all data published on DataShare is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to make it easier to locate and cite. Furthermore, DataShare runs on figshare, a cloud based data sharing and publishing platform.
Data Set Disclosure forms are reviewed by staff in various offices at the university to ensure that the data should be shared and library staff review data before publication in order to assist researchers in making their data FAIR.
DataShare is a joint project supported by the University Library, Office of the Vice President for Research, and Information Technology. As an open access repository DataShare does not accept or publish data that contains sensitive, proprietary, confidential, or personally identifiable information (PII).
