Ways to Detect AI Generated Images

These tips were suggested by University of Arizona Libraries' Nicole Hennig. But they may not be adequate as technology keeps changing.

  • Look for missing or extra fingers
  • Look at the faces. Small faces are usually distorted
  • Look for misspelled text in the image
  • Look for inconsistent reflections

Generative AI For Various Functions

The development of generative AI is very much in flux. The few examples on this list are just some of the most commonly used. Some, like ChatGPT, have wider (multi-modal) usage than what they are categorized under. There are a lot more AI tools including, and not limited to, those listed on this site.
