ESA’s programmes are designed to find out more about Earth, its immediate space environment, our Solar System and the Universe, as well as to develop satellite-based technologies and services, and to promote European industries. ESA also works closely with space organizations outside Europe.

Onera was originally created by the French government in 1946, and assigned six key missions which are as follows: -Direct and conduct aeronautical research-Support the commercialization of this research by national and European industry-Construct and operate the associated experimental facilities-Supply industry with high-level technical analyses and other services-Perform technical analyses for the government-Train researchers and engineers

Marshall continues to enable scientific discovery through development of hardware and instruments for projects including the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the GLAST Gamma-ray Burst Monitor, and Gravity Probe B. The center develops, integrates, and operates major components and systems on the International Space Station and supports its operations around the clock.

NOAA’s dedicated scientists use cutting-edge research and high-tech instrumentation to provide citizens, planners, emergency managers and other decision makers with reliable information they need when they need it. NOAA's roots date back to 1807, when with the Nation’s first scientific agency, the Survey of the Coast, was established. NOAA maintains a presence in every state and has emerged as an international leader on scientific and environmental matters.

NSSDC also serves as NASA's permanent archive for space physics mission data. It provides access to several geophysical models and to data from some non-NASA mission data. NSSDC provides on-line information bases about NASA and non-NASA data as well as spacecraft and experiments that generate NASA space science data. NSSDC is part of the Solar System Exploration Data Services Office (SSEDSO) in the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. NSSDC's staff consists largely of physical scientists, computer scientists, analysts, programmers, and data technicians.
