Visitors Guide to Research Resources

This guide is intended to alert campus visitors to research resources that are available to them from the ISU Libraries - both remotely and on-campus.

Cheap but not free

The Document Delivery Service (DDS) at Iowa State University provides rapid, low-cost copying and delivery services. Drawing on the resources of the ISU Library, and other libraries and document suppliers throughout the world, DDS staff will locate, photocopy, scan, and deliver a variety of documents, including:

  • Journal and newspaper articles
  • Technical reports
  • Conference papers
  • Book chapters
  • Government documents
  • Patents
  • Book loans (for individuals with an active ISU Library card)
  • Other types of materials

For individuals with an ISU Visitor's Card, scanning of ISU Library print materials is $5 per request. Books from the ISU Library and other libraries around the world can be mailed to your home or office, fees may apply depending on the address.
