Closed Captioning

With the increase of video usage during the pandemic, it is imperative that captioning is used within all video usage. Video usage can include, Zoom, Webex, class presentation and Youtube videos. Statistics show that people spend 6 hours of their day watching videos, 85 percent of that time the video is watched without the sound on, and 41 percent of videos are indecipherable without sound or captions (Leduc, 2018). Based on these statistics, it can be concluded that without captioning on videos, a large population of viewers, students and participants will be excluded from the amazing work being produced on campus.
