This guide will assist you in successfully completing your biography and research project assignments. The content and downloadable worksheet will be used during a class visit to the library where you will receive instruction in how to perform a literature review.
If you have any questions about your class assignments you should contact the course instructor but if you are having trouble locating information on your topic you can contact your librarian.

Undertaking a biography project on someone who's life is not well documented can be difficult and is not advised for this class. You only have a few weeks to complete the biography project so you need to choose someone who's been written about before.
If you leave the library class day with less than 3 or more good resources, you should consider changing the subject of your biography.
Want an example? A biography of naval engineer Henrietta Vansittart illustrates how hard it can be to research contributions by women due to lack of documentation; the few sources available are hard to find and obtain.
The boxes below contain online resources dedicated to women in STEM. You can use them to get ideas for your research paper or biography assignments.
