You can take the exam as long as you haven't been enrolled in LIB 1600 in the past.
You will have to pay the $100 testing fee if you sign up for the exam--even if you don't end up taking it or if you fail the exam.
You must get 80% correct to pass the exam. You get 1 attempt, and you have 60 minutes. You are not allowed to use notes.
There are typically two dates for the Test-out exam offered on Wednesday and Thursday of the second week in the Session. Please contact lib-instruction-services@iastate.edu to ask about specific dates. We do not offer the exam during the Summer or Winter sessions.
The best way to prepare is to review the content for all five modules
