LIB 1600: Introduction to College Level Research

Am I eligible to take the Test-out Exam?

You can take the exam as long as you haven't taken LIB 1600 in the past

How much does it cost?

You will have to pay the $100 testing fee if you sign up for the exam--even if you don't end up taking it or if you fail the exam.

What is the Test-out Exam like?

You must get 80% correct to pass the exam. You get 1 attempt and you have 60 minutes. You are allowed to use the class textbook during the exam. 

When is the Test-out Exam?

There are typically two dates for the Test-out exam offered during the Wednesday and Thursday of the second week in the Session. Please contact lib-instruction-services@iastate.edu to ask about specific dates.

How should I prepare for the exam?

The best way to prepare is to review the class textbook.
