Welcome to the Iowa State University Library

Welcome to the Iowa State University Library!

This guide is designed to get you started using library resources. You will find that many of the Library's materials (journal articles and databases) are available remotely.

Off-campus access to ISU Library resources requires logging in with your Net-ID and ISU email password. To make the research process easier, we recommend you start by logging into Okta or My Library Card and it will remember you as a valid ISU user until you close your Internet browser.

NOTE: Your Net-ID is the portion of your ISU email address that appears before the @ symbol, as in: yournetid@iastate.edu

ISU Distance Education students & instructors, please see our Distance Learning guide for more specifics about off-campus access and troubleshooting tips for access problems.

If you have questions, you can:

  1. Email your librarian (see information in the right column)
  2. Ask Us through chat, email or check out our Frequently Asked Questions.
  3. Stop by the Main Desk on the first floor of Parks Library. Desk hours.

Whether you are a new student, faculty or staff member, I'd love to chat with you about all the library has to offer. I'll be glad to meet with you via email, phone, or at my office in Parks Library. Email and appointment links are available in my contact information.
