Event details for the 2026 Digital Scholarship Symposium hosted in the Catalyst

Digital Scholarship Symposium 2025

The Iowa State University Library’s Digital Scholarship and Initiatives department and the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities (CEAH), in collaboration with partners at Grinnell College and the University of Iowa, are excited to welcome you to our third annual Digital Scholarship Symposium, to be held March 25, 2026, in The Catalyst—Parks Library’s dedicated digital research and learning space.

This symposium brings together faculty, students, librarians, digital practitioners, and community members to explore how digital methods, tools, and creative practices are transforming research, teaching, and public engagement. We welcome proposals from across Iowa’s higher education institutions, organizations, and digital communities.

This year’s theme, “Expanding Possibilities: Digital Scholarship for Communities, Classrooms, and Creative Futures" invites exploration of how digital scholarship bolsters student digital literacy and opens research to broader audiences beyond academic journals through digital platforms, interactive media, and open educational resources.

A call for proposals will be forthcoming in January, 2026.
