Content for digital exhibits looks different than data for other types of digital scholarship projects. While you may find materials to use for a digital exhibit in open access digital collections from libraries, museums, and other institutions, not everything you may want to use will be online.
While digital collections are a fantastic resource, they usually only represent a small fraction of a library or museum's collection. As with other historical projects, constructing a digital exhibit can often mean locating physical collections relevant to your topic, visiting archives, and conducting archival research. Please note that while some archives can accommodate requests to digitize materials, such capacity is often limited and can take time.
