If you find a journal article or book that is not available through the ISU Library, you can request it!

Digital items and scans are generally delivered within 24 hours.

Physical items are generally delivered within 3 to 10 business days. Delivery times vary based on the nature and availability of the item.

This same process works if you need a book chapter copied and sent to you or a physical book from our collections.

Physical Books can be mailed to you if you live more than 25 miles outside of Ames.

1. You can either set your Interlibrary Loan profile to request ALL physical items be mailed to you (and supply the mailing address)
   - OR -
2. After you receive an email notice that a physical item is ready for pick up at the library - reply to the email requesting it be delivered to your home address. Again, this is only allowed for mailing addresses that are 25 miles outside of Ames.
