Women's History Month Online Exhibit 2021

DEI Committee's online exhibit for Women's History Month 2021

Welcome

Welcome to our Women's History Month 2021 LibGuide!

There were planned celebrations throughout 2020 to honor the centennial anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, which gave women in the United States the right to vote. This guide looks at what has happened since the ratification. Even with the passing of the 19th amendment, people of color often could not vote until the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and voter suppression has continued into the present day. This guide highlights books, articles, and other resources focusing on the intersection of suffrage and race. Also featured are female politicians and female activists who fought for, and continue to fight for, voting rights, equal rights, and representation at all levels of government.
