Celebrate International Love Data Week, February 10-14

in the Catalyst

 

International Love Data Week is an annual celebration led by Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan that brings people from all over the world to learn, appreciate, and have fun with data. This year’s theme is "Whose Data is it, Anyway?"

Data Visualization Workshops 📈

Love Data Week Celebration - Drop-in Event 🎉☕

  • When: Friday, Feb 14, Noon - 2 p.m.
  • Where: The Catalyst, Parks Library, room 199
  • Details: Warm up with hot chocolate and treats and learn how to transform a dataset into a wearable bracelet. It’s a fun way to see data in a new light and to learn about the data support services available in The Catalyst. 

Data Viz Contest 🧙🏽‍♂️

  • Who: Open to all undergraduate and graduate students
  • When: Opens Feb 14. Submissions due by midnight on March 14.
  • Details: Submit your best visualization and compete for a $150, $75, or $50 Visa gift card! 🏆

Book Display and Live Data Polls 📚

  • When: Throughout February
  • Where: Parks Library entrance and third floor landing
  • Details: Check out a selection of books on data ethics, visualization, and AI and participate in our interactive data polls
