MS Agronomy

a library research guide to assist students in the distance MS in Agronomy program here at Iowa State

Setting up your Library Account

To use the library you must setup an account. The third item below is optional.

  1. ISU Library Account. This is so that you can access databases and e-books from off campus. With this account, you can also see the books that you have checked out from Parks Library and if you have any fines on your account. This account will not show any interlibrary loans.
  2. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Account. Your ILL account enables you to get interlibrary loaned journal articles and books. Journal articles from ILL are usually sent as a pdf, but must be retrieved through your ILL account by logging in. It also gives you access to what we call document delivery. Document delivery means that we are able to scan items that we only have in print and send them to you via email. This is done the same way that an interlibrary loan is done. Books borrowed through ILL may be able to be renewed through this portal as well, if the lending library allows renewals on ILL items.
  3. Delivery of books. If you would like to get books owned by Parks Library delivered to your home, you will have to notify the library via email or telephone. The library covers the cost of shipping books to your home, and we also cover the cost by including a return shipping label so that you do not have to pay for borrowing books from the library.
