What is Course Reserves?

What is Course Reserves?

The Library's Course Reserves is an important partner for faculty in putting together required materials in many formats and making them available for students. Course Reserves manages all relevant copyright issues (including fees) related to posting or distributing copyrighted materials within the Canvas Course Reserves system. This service saves time and money for faculty and the ISU community.  Students benefit with easy 24/7 accessibility of online course materials and no costly coursepacks.

ISU Open and Affordable Education Committee Video

In this video, Michèle Schaal, an Associate Professor of French and Women's and Gender Studies, shares her experience making her courses more affordable by working with Course Reserves through the Iowa State University Library.

Hard Copy Course Reserves

Course Reserves will maintain a hard copy collection at the Parks Library Main Desk and the Design Reading Room.

If classes move again to 100% online and/or the Library closes due to COVID-19, changes to our services will be posted here.  Course Reserves will continue to provide services to all ISU classes.
