M E 202: Professional Planning

This guide introduces students in ME 202 to finding and using library resources for mechanical engineering research, and how library research skills support their professional goals.

Training

Workshops

The ISU Library hosts a number of workshops each semester. These are opportunities to learn a new technology, software, or skill in a hands-on environment with a live human being as your instructor so you can ask questions and get help.

Topics covered that might be of interest to engineering students include:

  • Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and Makey Makey
  • Getting started with LaTeX and Overleaf
  • Data and file management
  • Citation management software (varies by semester)

Writing

Parks Library is one of the locations where you can meet with someone from the Writing and Media Center for a consultation. See the link below for more information and to schedule an appointment.
