University Library Virtual Event & Workshop Proposal Process

This Lib Guide reviews the process for planning virtual University Library events through the Events Review Committee.

The Event Review Committee’s role is to support events by

  • Approving events and workshops, providing feedback to proposals
  • Helping identify campus connections to maximize attendance
  • Connecting staff with University Library’s Communications Team

Examples of event requests that should originate with the Event Review Committee include, but are not limited to the following:

  • A virtual lecture at Ames Public Library planned by a University Library department
  • An opening kickoff hosted by a library department at Parks Library
  • A lecture or workshop co-sponsored with another campus unit held at the Memorial Union

All University Library events and workshops must be approved by the Event Review Committee before communications assistance can be requested.
