"The term “preprint” most often refers to a manuscript that has gone through a peer-review process and now awaits publication in a traditional journal. A preprint accessible over the Web may also be referred to as an “e-print.”

    Open access to 494,258 e-prints in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology and Statistics.
  • Cogprints  
      
    An electronic collection of self-archived papers in areas related to cognition including: psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science, philosophy, and biology.
  • E-Print Network  
      
    Originally called the OSTI Preprint Server. These pages contain links to thousands of servers, sites, and documents contributed by individual authors that contain e-print information in discipline areas of interest to DOE research activities.
  • Nature Precedings  
      
    A free service started in January 2007. It is a permanent, citable archive for pre-publication research and preliminary findings in biology, medicine (except clinical trials), chemistry and earth sciences.
  • Scirus  
      
    Scirus is a free, comprehensive science-specific Internet search engine. The Advanced Search feature will allow restricting searches to just preprint sites.
  • Social Sciences Research Network  
      
    All things social sciences. Contains working papers and forthcoming papers as well as some published papers.
  • Virtual Technical Reports Center  
      
    From the University of Maryland - this site provides links to numerous e-prints, preprints and reprints as well as technical reports.
