MICRO 440: Laboratory in Microbial Physiology, Diversity, and Genetics

This guide is intended to support students enrolled in MICRO 440.

Overview

This library guide is written for the purpose of assisting the students in Micro 440 with literature searches. There are suggestions and tips on not only how to find literature, but also important concepts in understanding literature, such as primary versus secondary sources of information. Perhaps of most importance in this library guide is a link to useful databases that will prove to be of great importance when seeking biological literature. As advanced undergraduate students, you should understand by now the importance of knowing how to find biological information. This is a skill which will be, for most of you, used for your entire professional life, and searching databases for information is not merely a student activity.

Here I give how to write a basic citation for a journal article using the APA style.
