Obtaining a Library Card

Retired faculty and staff, are eligible to receive the standard ISUCard at no cost. For additional information, contact the ISUCard Office at (515) 294-2727. ISU alumni and individual researchers who have no formal affiliation with ISU, can apply for an ISU Library Visitor Card. To apply for a Visitor Card, you must bring a valid form of photo identification (e.g., driver's license, Non-driver ID card, etc.) to the Main Desk, in the Parks Library lobby, in person. This cannot be done from off-campus.

NOTE: This is not an instantaneous process. Applicants will receive their Visitor Cards by mail but will be able to check out some materials the same day they apply for their card.

Also note: Visitor cards do not provide non-ISU researchers with database access from off-campus.
