Human Development and Family Studies Research Guide

Research resources for locating information in Human Development and Family Studies.

Using Quick Search below, you can find books that the library owns.

Quick Search

In addition to physical books the Library also purchases e-books. In the results for your book search, select "Available online" to see only e-books. In a full list of books, the ones that are available electronically will say "Online Access" in the record. When you click the link you'll be directed to the e-book.

Finding audio and visual materials

The library provides access to a wealth of streaming audio and visual materials that can help with teaching and learning psychology.  All are included in Quick Search.  Type your topic or keyword in the large Quick Search box.  In the first drop-down box under the search box, change the setting to Audio Visual.  If you want to look at only online materials (rather than materials on CD or DVD), after your search is complete, click on Full Text Online, right above your list of results.

If the Library doesn't own a book you need, it can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.

WorldCat - A "SuperCatalog" listing the books and other resources owned by thousands of libraries across the U.S. and around the world. If ISU doesn't have something, we can usually borrow it through Interlibrary Loan.

You can also email me with your purchase request and I will order it and make sure you are notified when it arrives. In the event I'm not able to purchase the book you request, I'll contact you.
